The World Time watch has always been Patek Philippe's emblematic complication and remains one of the most coveted by collectors. In 2008, Patek Philippe unveiled the new edition of the World Time watch with Ref. 5131. Like its predecessors who continue to make raves in auction houses, the Patek Philippe World Time 5131 features a handmade cloisonne enamel dial showing either Europe/Asia (Ref. 5131G in 18kt white gold case) or Europe/USA (Ref. 5131J in 18kt yellow gold case), once again showing proof of the company's commitment to craftsmanship and artistry. Due to the painstaking process involved in making cloisonne enamel dials, only a handful of Patek Philippe 5131 is produced every year. The Patek Philippe World Time 5131 shows the hour of every major city in the world in one glance. It is driven by a self- winding caliber 240 HU (Heure Universelle = World Time) movement equipped with a micro- rotor and the famous Gyromax balance. It is available in either 18kt white gold or yellow gold case which is water resistant to 30 meters.
