Corum Chinese Hat
Ever since its establishment in 1955 in La-Chaux-De-Fonds, Switzerland, the watch brand Corum set out to defy what the industry dictates. The founders Gaston Reis and his nephew Ren� Bannwart designed and introduced watches that piqued the interest of an otherwise tired and disenchanted luxury watch market. One such effort is the 1958 release of the Corum Chinese Hat collection. Inspired by the popular hats worn by Chinese women at the time, the 18k round gold case features a bezel that resemble a hats brim. The Corum Chinese Hat measures 34mm wide and can be subtly elegant with a face featuring three diamond markers or full on glam with a paved dial. Quartz operated, the two-handed Corum Chinese Hat watches had been recently reissued in limited number of 30 pieces each in rose and white gold.
